Oldonyo Lengai 4 Day Walking Safari

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO NGARESERO VILLAGE

Pickup from the hotel in Arusha and transfer to Ngaresero village in Ngorongoro

Arrive in the evening and set camp for an overnight stay

Relax around camp in the evening and retire to rooms as early as 07:00 to prepare for the next day

DAY 2: OLDONYO LENGAI TREKKING

Wake up around 23:30 for hot drinks and snacks. Proceed with putting on trekking gear.

Leave the camp by torchlight and transfer to the base of Oldonyo Lengai

Start climbing the active volcanic mountain to arrive by sunrise

Take time at the summit to rest and take photographs before the descent. Trekking is done at night time due to lack of shade and direct violet rays from the sun during day time

Return to the campsite and have quality rest and reflection time

DAY 3 : NAINOKANOKA VILLAGE WALKING SAFARI

Leave for Nainokanoka Village with a packed lunch

Walk to the Munge Waterfalls where a magnificent view of the surrounded areas an be appreciated

Break for a picnic lunch and return to the village

Drive to the Maasai Village (indigenous people of Ngorongoro highlands)

Go for a walking safari to learn about Maasai culture and traditions

Get a chance to see their local dances and making of handicrafts including ornaments

Set camp for an overnight stay

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO ARUSHA VIA LAKE NATRON

Have breakfast and leave for a walk to Lake Natron

Take a walk along the lake while admiring its beautiful alkaline nature with flamingos spread out on the lake

Break for a picnic lunch and drive back to Arusha
